Samantha Cooper ABCDT, CTDI

Samantha has been studying animal behaviour and training for over 20 years now. She is a certified trainer who studied at Animal Behavior College and trained along side Kyra Sundance as a Trick Dog Instructor with Do More With Your Dog. Samantha has a special interest in PTSD and Seizure response/alert dog training but does have experience training dogs for many different medical challenges.

Samantha is very educated in many of the common disabilities that she works with. Including, but not limited to autism, PTSD, seizures, and mental health. Her work with people is just as important as her work with the dogs, as it helps to know the disorders in order to match people up with the right service dog.

Samantha is trained in Crisis work, addictions and mental health, animal behavior, and as a Certified Dog Trainer keeps up on her education in order to stay up to date with all things training. Ability Dogs Canada is the second service dog organization that Samantha started. ADC was a dream of Samantha’s because she wanted to be able to help more people across Canada and make sure that all Canadians have access to properly trained service dogs.

As the trainer and primary trainer and handler of ADC Shanka, an intervention dog for Victim Services Kingston and Frontenac, Samantha works well in all situations including crisis situations, working with individuals who struggle with mental health, PTSD challenges, and epilepsy.
To date, Samantha has fully trained over 60 service dogs.
